What is it Like to Work in an Alcohol and Drug Rehab?

Jobs at Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers

The addiction crisis in the United States has led to an unprecedented demand for drug and alcohol treatment. This means the rehab business is booming and there are more addiction treatment centers than at any time in history. This also represents a real opportunity for people looking for satisfying and rewarding work. You might think you need to be a doctor or nurse or maybe a therapist to work at a drug treatment center, but you’d be wrong.

While many of the employees at a typical drug rehab center are medical or clinical staff, there are also quite a lot of non-medical ancillary and support staff there who are all vital to the smooth daily operations of a treatment center. Because drug rehabs are a competitive business and business is good right now, most addiction treatment centers can afford to pay a good wage and even offer benefits such as health insurance, paid time off and even 401k and retirement plans.

This article from SMG Healthcare Recruiters will give you a sense of what it is like to work in a drug and alcohol rehab and what types of positions you might find there.

What Are Drug Treatment Rehabs Like and What They Do

Alcohol and drug rehab centers are institutions that provide a wide range of services for individuals struggling with addiction. The services provided by these facilities are aimed at helping individuals recover from their addiction and lead a fulfilling life after recovery. Addiction counselors are responsible for providing therapy and counseling sessions to individuals struggling with addiction.
