When you are considering hiring a medical assistant, it is important to ask about their level of education. Some states require medical assistants to be certified, which typically involves passing an exam.

  2. What types of experience do you have in the field?
  3. What is your level of experience with handling medical billing and coding?
  4. Do you have experience with scheduling appointments and managing patient records?
  5. What is your level of experience with using medical software?
  6. Are you comfortable working long hours, on call, or overnight shifts?
  7. What is your availability like?
  8. What are your salary expectations

You can also use this to determine hard skills. These are the skills that they have that are specific to the medical field. This can include things like medical billing, coding, and terminology. You will also want to ask about their experience with different types of medical equipment.

3. What Are Your Strengths?

A medical assistant can bring a lot to the table in terms of skills and abilities. But what are their soft skills? To find out, you can ask some of the following open questions:

  2. What do you enjoy doing in free time?
  3. What are your natural talents and abilities?
  4. What do others say are your strengths?

5. How Did You Find This Position?

How they found the position is always an interesting question to ask, because it can tell you a lot about how they think. First, consider whether the medical assistant is currently employed. If so, ask how they heard about the opening. This will give you some insight into their job search methods and whether they are actively looking for new opportunities.

If the medical assistant is not currently employed, ask how long they have been searching for a position. This will help you gauge their level of desperation and commitment to finding a new job. Additionally, ask if they have applied for other positions. This will give you an idea of their employment history and what kinds of jobs they are interested in.
